  • One word - Iconic

I have been using mini disc players since they were introduced and even now I use them in preference to Ipods and CD players. I have five portable MD players, but in my opinion the 3 Hi-Md players issued in 2004 are, without doubt, head and shoulders above any other -- and I do include the RH1, which is also a great piece of kit but doesn't have the looks of these three. I am referring to the NH1, the NH3D and the EH1 - these are the all metal bodied players, with no sign of any plastic anywhere, and which are absolutely design classics, are far as I'm concerned - from the actual players, with their amazing functionality and sound quality, right through to the charging cradles - which these players look absolutely brilliant sitting in when on my desk - these are hi-fi classics. Alright the L-ion batteries can be a bit hard to replace when needed but there is a mod using $5 dollar alternative one's and which I have used to keep these timeless classics working just as well as they were on the day they were first issued - well ahead of their time.

  • Most stylish and most interesting MD player

This one is my very favorite MD player and I have had most of the models, It is one of thinnest and I just love the design, Even now in 2018 I am running them (yes I have 3 of these) with windows 8 and 7 64bit. really nice remote. The only con is that sony had a thinking of cornering their customers, they did not made compatible chargers and docking stands for higher end products, most of them had their own designs and it will be a pain down the road. But these models are really nice........as I said my favorite and highest coolness factor from all MD players

  • Functional little player

Older model, but still reliable player

  • Almost perfection

The NH1 is easy to use and well built. There is a more expensive model the RH1 but that almost inevitably has a major design fault with the deployment of early version of OLED displays. They simply go dark and cease to function..
