Oxford back protector
This is a low cost option when upgrading the standard issue foam pads in a lot of jackets. Fortunately I did not have to trim it at all for any of my IXS jackets or a leather four pocket barbour style leather jacket from Triumph. Obviously a bit bulker and heavier than the foam, but it feels like you've got some decent protection in place.
