I bought this CD because I am a big fan of Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac in the early days. At the time this recording was being made, Peter Green was a young guitarist and had recently joined John Mayall's Bluesbreakers. He wrote two songs on this CD, one of which, The Supernatural, was an instrumenrtal that showcased his incredible blues guitar tone, which of course developed and expanded during his time with Fleetwood Mac some time later. The track called The Supernatural was featured in many Peter Green Splinter Group live perfomances back in the early 2000's, but this original recording has a more 'bluesy' feel to it. You can detect Peter Green's influence on several other tracks on this CD, and some of the John Mayall written tracks are well worth a listen to, if you enjoy 1960s British blues music. RIP Peter Green...thank you for the music Read full review

Most people buying this album in 2021 will know that Peter Green and John McVie later left the Bluesbreakers to form the first incarnation of Fleetwood Mac. They'll also know John Mayall had a knack for spotting talented young blues musicians. As one would expect the guitar work on this album is of a very high standard. Peter Green had the unenviable task of establishing himself as the Bluesbreakers' guitarist after Eric Clapton had left. This is a very good album of British blues but not quite as good as the "Beano" album with Clapton on guitar. It's a great showcase for Peter Green's guitar playing. The only downside is John Mayall's vocals. This album is well worth getting alongside the Beano album and the Crusade album which has future Rolling Stone Mick Taylor on guitar.

A must for all John Mayall fans, I love it for the blues guitar of Peter Green, there's also the extra bonus tracks which make it value for money.

A chance to hear early Peter Green on the BB, just after taking over from Clapton. Mayall certainly had an eye for talent.

14 bonus tracks and some background history on the ups and downs of John Mayall & the Bluebreakers included on the sleeve/insert i.e Peter Green stepping into Eric Clapton's shoes in 1967. All very convivial.
