I bought the vinyl album on its original release in 1981 and still play it today but I wanted to upgrade it to cd for my car and also my Bose system. With this cd release you get the bonus of a dvd with both ‘live’ and studio performances plus the added bonus as far as I’m concerned of seeing the beautiful Julia Tobin of the Royal Shakespeare Company as the “Maid of Orleans”. Quality album that has lasted the time!

Although I love (nearly) all the OMD albums this one stands out above the rest. Apart from the obvious classic singles it includes some amazing soundscaped with Sealand and the title track along with upbeat tracks like Georgia and New Stone Age. The DVD is amazing as well capturing OMD on the Architecture & Morality tour, they are amazing live. This CD / DVD pack inclused extra tracks inclusing one of the best OMD sons EVER 'Gravity Never Failed'
If you loved the early seventies experimental synth engineers like Kraftwerk and others then 80s synth-pop was the next step into the world of popular music. OMD came on a wave and blasted the world with this enormous album. Filled with great lyrics and superb melodies, experimental synthesis and a fantastic showcase of uptempo tunes and ballads. Obviously the hits stand out a mile but I can safely say this album stands head and shoulders above anything else OMD did before or since. The extra DVD of them in concert really brings the whole essence of the music alive and McCluskey's dad-dancing is a sight to see!! If you want just one album of this band for your collection then get Architecture & Morality!!
