I saw America Ferrera in 'Chicago' playing Trixie. She was more than impressive, singing and dancing and winning over the audience despite being the baddie. The Ugly Betty creators must have been charmed by America as I was, and the show is excellent with a strong cast and top notch production. My 12 year old daughter and I feel part of the Suarez family. By the way, we stayed behind after the Chicago show and met America for a photo and autograph. She is genuinely lovely.
Having only seen 2 episodes of Ugly Betty on TV, (but really liking it), I decided to take the plunge an indulge in a full box set! As soon as one episode finished, I couldn't wait to watch the next. Quirky, sweet, really funny and absolutely mad, I thoroughly enjoyed the journey to 'Mode Magazine'!! It did get surprisingly dark and serious in the last few episodes, which left me wanting just to 'cry' rather than cry with laughter, which did change the feel of the show for me. But overall, a great watch and I'm looking forward to re-watching the whole series, when I get the chance. If you like a bit of comedy, unrequited love and baddies who deep, deep down have a heart and are likeable (for all the wrong reasons), this is for you. Enjoy!!
I heart Ugly Betty and this DVD boxset is to die for. For Ugly Betty fanatics that is! The DVD boxset comes with the complete compilation of episodes from Series 1 and never seen footage 'behind the scenes' and the making of Ugly Betty called Bettyfied. Its definitely worth every cent or penny (if you're in the UK). Get yourself one now!
I think everybody can relate to ugly betty because I am sure we have had the same problems in life that sometimes we should shoot for the stars. brilliant box set loads of extras. looking forward to next series.
I bought the first series of Ugly Betty recently, after watching an episode of the current series and I'm hooked. Can't wait to see series two and three. What I love about Ugly Betty is that it centres on a character that wouldn't normally be that situation. It champions the idea that you don't need to be a stick insect, or be stunning,or wear the right labels to get on in life. You just have to try to be who you are and eventually people appreciate that. If only the real world was like that. I think every fashion magazine should hace their own betty in there office, it would be a nicer place.
