In this film version of Gwenlyn Parry's classic comedy, we discover that for a bunch of Welsh supporters, the words 'grand slam' can mean a host of different things, especially when included in the bunch, are an undertaker, the son of an undertaker, a boutique owner and a French hostess. some of the most important words ever spoken. well chosen.
if you were around at the time,as i was, you could identify with everything that went on during this trip .the rugby trips were the best and combined fun, social bonding, loud singing and getting very drunk ( without being offensive or physical). they were the best of times when happiness was the order of the day and political correctness not required. you could do or say what you liked but not to offend any one at all.getting back to the film it is an icon of its age and showed a period of welsh history when enjoyment abounded even through the darkest of times.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Welsh rugby culture
It probably only works if the viewer is a rugby fan and Welsh (or at least "Celtic"). I qualify, so I really enjoyed it.
