As a teenager, Thomas is forced into a deadly battle against the advancing Red Army and subsequently captured. He disappears behind the Iron Curtain for 17 years, where he studies at an elite Soviet school. Upon his graduation, he is recruited by the KGB and sent to London to infiltrate a Soviet spy ring under suspicion at the height of the Cold War. Whilst leading a double life, Thomas meets and falls in love with a young artist who rekindles his joie de vivre. As heÆs hunted by the British Secret Services, Thomas slips further into London life and the freedoms of the swinging æ60s. Told in flashback, JOY DIVISION is a thrilling debut from British director Reg Traviss.
