The Crow - Collectors Edition
Brandon Lees epic last stand was forever ingrained to celluloid in The Crow. This film holds many memories of my teenage years. From the amazing cinematography, set design, direction, acting, and of course storyline, we are transported to devils night, and the scene of a crime. What unfolds after is nothing short of a stunningly dark fairytale. Brandon Lee (Son Of Bruce Lee) plays the main protagonist; returning from the dead to exact revenge for the death of his fiancée. The quality on Blu-Ray is fantastic. Every little detail is present, and from the original VHS copy, which I spent many joyous moments watching over the years, the stark comparison in quality is all too apparent. While this film is mostly set in the dark, you are still able to pick out detail, with the shadows ever present. It may appear to those new to the film that the appearance has an almost desaturate scale to the colour. Sound quality is also on point, although some of the special effects give a hint specifically geared for the age of the film. The Crow has received a fantastic transfer onto the Blu-Ray format. It is worth noting that Brandon Lee lost his life during the making of this film, and was very nearly never completed. This is an amazing addition to anyone’s collection. 👍

After years and the recent upsurge in comic book IP films, this stands as one of the bench marks against which others are measured. From Ernie Hudson through to Brandon Lee the cast are brilliant.
