    Awesome

    I purchased this because it was highly rated, and boy are they not wrong! Silent, low temperature, plays well with others (most controllers). I got these to go nice with my 4.2a NEMA23 113m long steppers powered at 36volts, who are little beasts. This version (4.0) gives them that few more extra milliamps that the version (2.3) doesn't really have. If you are buying this to go with the above motor then have it set at 400 pulse, it's best setting at 36volts. If you use a higher or lower voltage then you have to find the setting that works best for yourself!

    Low Temperature Operation

    I am using this 2 of these drivers with NEMA 24, 8 wire, 4.2A stepper motors wired for bi-polar parallal operation setup for 32 microsteps i.e. 6400 steps/revolution. I have recently run this set-up for 4 hours continuous operation on my cnc mill whilst measuring the temperature of the drivers and motors. The drivers reached a max temp of 27 degC and the motors peaked at 43 degC. In my limited experience of stepper drivers these are by far the best I have used, but it should also be noted that these are genuine Leadshine drivers re-badged where as my previous drivers were cheap clones, ran very hot and didn't last very long in fact one burst into flames. If/when I buy more drivers I will certainly buy these as they seem "to do exactly what it says on the tin".

    I have tested 3 stepper drivers. 1.wantai DQ542MA. very noisy and hot motor and low speed. 2.Leadshine DM542. very good driver low motor noise and heat. very smooth and high speed 3.stepperonline DM542T. very similar to leadhine. and cheaper I would buy again. and I already have.

    Great drivers muth beter than cheaper units

    These were for my laser cutter, had some cheap drivers in there, upgraded to these not expecting to notice any difference, the motors run alot soomther and qiuter. Would recomened these as a great modification.

    Nice driver

    Not that much more expensive than the Chinese clones but feels much more solid and the lack of heat sink fins suggests it runs cooler which is always a bonus! Good quality driver at good price.
