This rigid steel tow bar with damper spring is ideal for towing cars and light vans up to 2000kg (approx. 2 tons) in weight. The tow pole conforms to German GS TUV approved standards. It is much safer than a traditional tow rope as it prevents the vehicle that is being towed running into the one in front.

Unfit for purpose and dangerous
This product is unfit for purpose, it broke the first time being used. I was an Engineer and bought it to tow my car to a garage for repair. It was all fitted correctly, and after towing for less than a mile, on turning into the garage one of the connecting hooks snapped completely in two. I consider this product as dangerous and should be taken off the market until full tests are carried out. Vehicles that are being towed usually don't have the engine working therefore the steering and braking capacity is restricted, which is why the towing pole must be totally reliable.
