The Shimano MF-TZ500-7 7-Speed Freewheel is a high-quality bike component designed for universal and mountain bike compatibility. With a largest sprocket size of 28 teeth and a smallest sprocket size of 14 teeth, this freewheel offers a versatile gear range suitable for various terrains. The sleek black colour and durable construction, weighing 300 grams, make it a reliable choice for cyclists looking to upgrade their bike's performance. As part of the Shimano Tourney model, this freewheel is a new, top-of-the-line option for those seeking precision and reliability in their cycling experience.
A great alternative to a standard freewheel because it has the really useful 'get out of trouble' low gear when your thigh muscles are burning on a steep climb.
Usually, good quality Shimano kit should be robust and reliable. I do a high mileage but generally get a couple of years (7000+ miles) out of one of these, though you must use a quality chain and have a regular clean and lubrication regime in place.
