New Improved Sharps Combi. Oven.
I bought this Combi. Oven as already have older model...which still works perfectly, for Holiday Home. I like the fact that it has buttons, rather than "Touch-Sensitive Pad" - Which can fail. Easy to use, Straight out of the box (Intuitive)..No need to read instructions !!- Some say its "Too Big"...But think they are splitting hairs, or just finding something to moan about. It fits perfectly on standard 600cm worktop & has a large heating element, Powerful Microwave & enough programmes to cater to the most fastidious...Who watch all those mindless, crap,cooking TV channels. Not as good as expected
This is a smart looking oven/microwave and the oven cooks very well. However, the grill is a different matter. It will toast a bun in 5 minutes but will take 20 minutes to grill some bacon! I now realise that the grill is not as powerful as my last, much cheaper oven but that still does not explain why it doesn't seem to want to brown any form of meat. I cook bacon and sausages under the grill but then put them in a frying pan to brown which rather defeats the object of grilling in the first place. The grill bars are exposed at the top of the oven which makes it very awkward and difficult to clean. Had I known this I would not have opted for this oven. There are so few standalone large capacity ovens of this type on the market at present and I went for this one having had bad experiences with the more expensive Sharp. I wish now that I had ignored this and hoped that the faults I had found before had been rectified. I use the grill a lot and because of the above issues I could not recommend this product unless you primarily want to use it as an oven or for dual cooking which it is very good at.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Not a combi cooker you can use!
I had to contact Sharp UK to establish that you cannot alter or control the temperature/Microwave settings if you want to combination cook conventionally/microwave. There is no way you can pre-set or alter it, its set to 230 deg C and 100% Micro power. This is not explained or noted in the manual no hint of it. The helpful lady on the helpdesk was surprised that this could not be done and had to ask a senior engineer if it was possible which it is not. I didn’t bother ask about the Grill /microwave setting as I suspect they are the same Full power! How can you calculate the cooking time if you didn’t know this? Why cook something to burn it on the outside and dried out on the inside. Our previous Sharp combi oven was an excellent device This one is uncontrollably dreadful, its going back!Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

The R982STM is a replacement for my Sharp R-322STM. My original rendered itself useless when over time it lost all the numbers on the clock.
