I'm sure we aren't the only ones who struggle with this; our child wants to play a video game and we feel guilty letting them take part in such a mindless activity. Rayman Brain Games might be the solution to that problem. The educational aspect of the gameplay is delivered like this; the child is given a problem delivered in oral form and then must choose the path that supplies the correct answer, meanwhile, navigating the typical obstacles of your usual video game. Rayman Brain Games is very fun with really nice "sparkly" graphics. My six year old loves it. The game play is very well suited for the age group it is directed towards. Only a couple negatives which brought it down to 4 stars for me. One of which is that sometimes it is a little difficult to understand the voice actor when he supplies the question. My child will often say, "What did he say?" and I honestly have to listen a couple times before I'm sure myself. The other is that the route the character follows through the level doesn't change, only the questions and answers do. This takes away from the educational value if your child replays it on a higher difficulty level because if you know the path to follow then you don't really have to pay attention to the problems and solutions anymore. All in all, a GREAT game, and I wish they would make more like it.Read full review
If you want to play this game, play the PC version. Do NOT play the PS1 version. I am talking about the game itself and it is NOT the fault of anyone selling this game. The PS1 version has hit detection so horrible that it renders certain levels unplayable. As a result, beating the game on ANY of the three difficulty settings is way harder than you might think, despite the fact that it's not 100% impossible (I myself managed to complete all three difficulty settings, so it IS possible...). Also, there's no 1-up pickups like in the PC version, so makes the poor hit detection more loathsome... Not to mention, the game is rated EC (Ages 3+) despite the back of the case saying it's for ages 6-9. An EC-rated game should NEVER involve punching enemies! How did the ESRB not check the back of the case??? That's not all; the American version of the game doesn't have the opening or ending cinematics that the PC version has (The European version of the PS1 port has them, but the quality is horrible). This means if you do beat the game, it kicks you back to the title screen with no form of congratulation whatsoever. The original PC version doesn't have any of the problems I talked about. Go get that version, and steer far, FAR away from the PS1 port! It is the absolute worst game I've ever played in my entire life! And I swear that I'm not exaggerating!Read full review

I haven't seen anything negative about this game. Anything that teaches a 5 year old and makes him keep coming back is wonderful. He doesn't know he is learning! He thinks he is playing a game! I love it.
got this game for my daughter, and she started playing not long after told me about how much she loved it. it's a very good educational game for young children.
We all loved the game we are all happy we won the bid because every one here enjoys the game very much
