Works better than RTV!
I have a 2009 Mini Cooper S R56 & i've had problems with an oil leak from the sump. According to the BMW manual, RTV sealant should be used to seal the union between the sump & block. I've replaced this three times now but the RTV sealant fails after a while. Now, i've tried using one of these gaskets. They seem good quality & it was very easy to fit compared to the messy RTV. After 300 hard motorway miles, i'm pleased to see that the sump still looks nice, clean & dry.
