DO NOT EVER BUY SONY PRODUCTS
DO NOT EVER BUY SONY PRODUCTS This EXPENSIVE SONY Bluray player will not play standard DVDs .. The player Constantly turned itself off 2 seconds after turning it on, I contacted SONY Technical assistance they could not help .. in fact 3 Tech assistants had no clue why this was happening eventually I solved the issue myself by turning on quick start on the player .. also No sound on some discs , I have to open and close the disc tray continuously before the player recognises there is a disc in the player I presume the player will completely fail very soon as it is performing the same as the base model I purchased that stopped working with exactly the same problems. I purchased a SONY Bluetooth player last year that stopped working after 13 months and a 55"BRAVIA 4K screen replaced 13 months after purchasing SONY Actually have an option when you phone them Specifically for SONY BRAVIA TVs because of the constant catastrophic failures with the products ...Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Replaced three other gadgets with one
I should have done this years ago. You might think that anything that plays disks belongs in the past, but when I saw my son's BlueRay player in action I rushed out and bought one. I was able to throw out my old DVD player, my Media Player for downloaded files, and my Google Chrome for beaming Netflix etc - cleaning out a whole lot of tangled cords. - Even on DVDs, the picture is much better than the old player, and I can now play BlueRay. - The USB connection lets me plug and play my hard disks full of downloaded stuff, even MKV files - the streaming connection doesnt turn off every day and have to be restarted like my Google gadget, and I dont have to run to the other room to my computer to control what's playing There are plenty of cheap Blueray players around, but it's good to have the Sony commitment to design and reliability.
