Remington going backwards
For 50 years I've been using only Remington electric shavers.
I can't remember which model number was my first but I certainly remember that I have had multiplel MS 1's and 2's which were absolutely fine in that they gave a good close, quick shave for years and years.
The MS520 that this cutter & foil set was bought for gives a hopeless shave, ie; you have to go over and over the same area of face and still don't get a close shave.
I don't know whether it's the shaver body/motor that's the problem or the cutter/foil.
The motor seems to run at the correct speed and the cutters are a firm snap fit on to the motor "legs", the foil head snaps on to the body correcty.
It doesn't improve if I use it held as a pen or the "original" orientation.
I thoroughly clean all areas after every use, ie; the motor legs, between the cutter blades, and the foil head by running it under the cold tap and using the cleaning brush, then drying it ready for tomorrow's use.
So, the shaver has been very poor since new and it's no better after fitting a new cutter/foil pack so I conclude that I need to find a shaver make and model that replicates the performance and durability of an MS1 or MS2 because Remington seem to have lost the ability to achieve this.
The supplier of the cutter foil set did their job well, the goods arrived on time and in undamaged condition - the problem is with the design of the MS520 and /or the cutter/foil set.
Please, Remington, get back to basics and re-make the MS1 or 2 to restore my faith in the brand and get back to enjoying a close shave with only one or two passes of the same area.
