Nice to look at
On the face of it, these salt and pepper mills are nice to look at. The grinding action works well and the light is useful, even though I didn't think it would be. They are robust and up to the task. The only issue, and so many have brought it up, is the batteries. Why on earth it needs 6 AAA is beyond me! It is fiddly to insert the batteries, just as you are about to pop in the last one, two will pop out. Can be very frustrating. Bad design there Morphy Richards. Not top of the range but good enough for most kitchens
The only problem with these is the number of batteries that you have to fit to make it work, 6 AAA, batteries with not the best connection points, a single battery would be much better. Have tried a number of battery powered salt and pepper units over the years. Most have failed in a year due to stripped gears.
