  • Good piece of kit made excellent with simple change of TWO bolts.

Retains good rigidity when fully extended but prolonged use tends to loosen the wing nuts on bolts through the handle.Have replaced with nylock nuts/bolts and no further problems. Shape of blade makes sawing very easy with little effort or strain.Much easier and efficient than saws using rope to control the action.

I would recommend this pruning saw to all keen gardeners very good can cut down small trees and most small to medium sized branches. Try it you will not regret it. A definite buy recommendation..

  • A Cut Above the Rest

I bought these to cope with a neglected laurel with high branches in difficult-to-get-to places which extending loppers couldn't deal with. This saw did the job quite nicely. There were no instructions but it is pretty easy to use with two buttons to increase and then reduce the extending pole, it doesn't seem possible to have an " in between " length. These are made of aluminium I think and there was some shaking at full extension but the blade is sharp and cutting was achieved efficiently although it was still pretty hard work. The blade is quite flexible which surprised me but this did help with changing position from a long distance. The saw does come with a sheath for the blade for save storage. Overall a good product.

  • Worth the money

This is a great tool to have, it's easy to use and cuts through branches no problem. I noticed someone else who had left a review and purchased this changed the wing nuts/bolts to nyloc nuts/bolts which I would agree as sometimes the wing nuts loosen a little when using it for a long period of time.

  • Brilliant product

I don't often have the time to write product reviews but I made an exception here as this is a brilliant product at a very reasonable price. Got annoying conifers next door darkening garden and with this and a ladder I managed to get rid of all offending branches. Very sharp and well shaped, cuts like a hot knife through butter. The thicker and more solid the branch, the quicker the cut. Brilliant!! 5 star!!

  • Feels like a well-made durable product

This feels like a well-made, durable product (by Silverline, not specifically mentioned in the listing). The extending sections slide out easily, click into place and are held securely by clips. The blade is quite curved, which helps to keep it located on the branch you're cutting. The only slight niggle is I wish the blade were a little more rigid, as it might help stability when starting to cut, but really that's a minor issue. The blade comes with a clip-on cover that has an eye to hang the tool on a hook when not in use. The blade is bolted to the handle, so could be easily changed if necessary. Overall, I'm very pleased with the saw.

  • Does the Job and not too Heavy

This is really good for sawing off quite high medium thickness branches and it isn't heavy (I haven't tried it on very thick branches yet but see no reason for it not to work). Only issue is the blade cover doesn't latch on properly. Doesn't affect use just means I have to be careful when putting it in and out of storage as the blade is very sharp. I would definitely recommend this and would buy again if it ever wears out!

  • Great quality telescopic tree saw

Well made, good quality soft rubber handle. The extension sections are flat sided oval tubes which allow secure contact and fixing. The blade is very sharp and cuts on the pull stroke and is kept safe held in a secure moulded cover. Would recommend the blade is cleaned and oiled after each use as it is mild steel not stainless.

  • Excellent lightweight pruning saw

This is an excellent saw which I use for brashing trees in a Sitka Spruce plantation. The saw makes short work of the branches and the length avoids the necessity for using a ladder on most occasions. It doesn't have a lopper mechanism on the head but this keeps the weight down and enables the saw to be used for extended periods. The design of the blade works well even when fully extended and the hooks at both the ends can be used to drag and direct the branches if they get snagged. The buttons to extend and lower the sections can be a bit fiddly at times but this a minor irritation given the effectiveness of the saw. The wing nuts attaching the blade to the handle, tend to come loose after extended periods of work and I have lost and they should be tightened periodically. Having owned and used these saws for 3 years the blades are still sharp but I am planning to use them for a long time and have just bought replacement blades for when they do become blunt. We recently organised a work party where friends brought every conceivable design of saw and loppers but none of them even came close to the effectiveness of this pruning saw. I don't think you'll find a better saw at this price.
