Good product but dropped one star as it needs a high power battery to work properly, at least a 5 Ah battery. Sourced a Ryobi 9 Ah battery from Spain to make sure no problems when using it.

Much more power & higher speed than it's predecessor, so getting much closer to the 'grunt' of a corded mains machine ('been using with new 5aH compact battery). Accordingly, it's great for quick jobs where getting the corded grinder out would be a pain. Used it for small areas of 'chasing out' (lead flashing), cutting steel cable capping & steel flat bar, plus grinding so far. Only negatives so far are price (quite costly, especially with a new 5aH battery as well - bought separately - even on a 'deal' price for both!). Slightly heavier & more bulky than predecessor, plus the battery sometimes gets in the way. Would be nice to have the rotating battery position on the machine, like on the old angle drill!

Seems more powerful than old model. takes a little getting used to with the on/off switch. and my first time with this type of disc lock appears good at first couple of uses. Time will tell.

I have used a 5.0ah battery with this little powerhouse and it just keeps going and going, so to get the most from this grinder use 4 or 5ah batteries. I have used this for grinding and cutting numerous bits of pipe and metal plate and does not seem to break a sweat. I would recommend this without hesitation and well worth the money.

If you are looking at this its either to buy your first one or because, like me, you've had one or more pack up on you. This seems to be a good step up from the cheaper Ryobi grinder. The locking on button is handy, the guard can be moved without tools and the disc removed without tools. The disc is slightly bigger at 125mm which helps and it's a decent power machine too. I believe it tries to maintain speed and from what I've seen so far it does that quite well too. Overload it and it cuts out which should improve reliability. All good with me so far, it's like the CEO of Ryobi borrowed one of the previous models from stores for a bit of DIY one weekend, returned on Monday and read the riot act to the design team.

Brushless model said to be more powerful and longer battery life, agree both. Quick change disc system and easy[er] guard adjustment. Slightly heaver than previous model, but still ok one hand operation.[or use handle in one of 3 positions].
