Best bass in any IEM (if you know the secret and easy mod)
With 16mm drivers, these IEMS have great potential. But to achieve their true bass-head bliss level, an important and easy modification is required. Just stick a small piece of black electrician's tape over the small rectangular port on each earpiece. Then, according to your bass-head taste, place a small pin hole in the tape to allow for some back pressure release. The larger the pin hole, the more the bass will return to its original level. With tape and no pin hole, the bass is huge, too much for all but the biggest bass fans. But for me tape and a small pin hole is perfect and produces bass that exceeds any IEM I've ever used (including my Sennheiser SE846s).
Highs are recessed a bit so I EQ them back up. But the highs are smooth compared to IEMs that use balanced armatures.
Fit is difficult with these. They're so large that they stick out of my smallish ears so that I can't tuck them in flat like I do most IEMs. Be sure to insert them with the cable wrapping over your ear to hold them up and in place.
I'm still experimenting with various ear tips. The stock ones are fine, but I imagine these will benefit (as most do) with some nice Comply foam tips.
