Whirlpool dehumidifier
I drove to Belgium to pick up my purchase for my daughter's new home, as I live in WI where this item comes from. Was met by a pleasant individual. Took me into his warehouse to let me pick the dehumidifier of my choice. And even though I did not purchase the drain hose or drain pump he gave them to me. Extraordinary machine!
We started using this machine just this week and it is extraordinary for the amount of moisture that is taken out of a damp area of our house. It is wonderful quiet and we really do like the drain features. The collection bucket method that we use for the first day or two was so good we had to empty on a daily basis. Good for the money- good looking machine
While this dehumidifier is not compact or what I would call quiet, it definitely works well as evidenced by the always draining water coming from the pump tubing. It originally worked great for about 18hrs before the circuit board broke & stayed on default settings only; however, this company was very responsive. They immediately offered it to be returned, but when I didnt want to hassell with that, they agreed to send me the circuit board to replace ourselves AND extend the warranty 6 months!! quick filling dehumidifier
nice quiet unit that really pulls the moisture out of the air, but if you are not using the drain hose, but rather the bucket, the bucket needs to be emptied very often. also, the handle has come off while emptying the bucket. it needs a bigger bucket, or just use the drain hose if you can.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Works well and well worth the money
I have three sump pumps in my basement because of a high water table. My son and his fiancee have my two room unfinished basement full of their belongings. It is necessary to keep the humidity under control. I am using two of this model dehumidifier to do the job. They work well, keeping the humidity in the 30 to 40 percent range. They are quiet and effective, even in colder weather, when the temperature in the basement falls to 60 or below. The defrost feature allows the units to continue working in this environment. The controls are easy to read and work as they are supposed to. The 70 pint capacity is handy since I have lots of moisture to remove from the air. Checking them and emptying once a day and an occasional filter cleaning are all that is necessary to keep the humidity under control. I am happy with how well these dehumidifiers work and would recommend them to anyone with as severe a damp basement problem as I have.
