It worked well until....I blew it!
I needed a device to attach to my Surface Pro, for Ethernet. I used this quite happily for a few days, via a 4 port USB sharing device. That is, until I tried to attach a DVD writer, which blew the 4 port sharer and the Rankie. Luckily, the other two devices survived.
