Good quality IR images but software could be better
The Android app is mainly ok but a bit unstable. It will occasionally crash and need restarting. The merging of the visible light and IR (fusion) works reasonably well but you will need a reasonably powerful phone for it to work properly (otherwise the two images will be slow to align as the camera or object moves). If your phone has a USB micro OTG plug instead of a USB C one, you will need to buy an adaptor cable because the camera is not supplied with one. I can confirm that the camera will work with a micro USB OTG port. The PC software supplied is disappointing because it does not include the fusion feature. The PC software is written by the IR sensor manufacturer InfiSense Technology Co. You should download the latest PC software (Sharp Infrared Analyzer) and user manual from their web site because the Topdon links you to an old, buggy version that will crash. Topdon have modified the sensor manufacturers original app to include the visible light camera fusion. Unfortunately they have only released the Android version (hence the lack of sensor fusion in the PC version). Overall, the quality of the IR sensor image is good and the video frame rate is also good.
