I bought this as I have several motorcycles for instructional use and tyre pressures are vitally important on these machines. I was struggling using a foot pump due to an arthritic knee so I was considering buying a compressor but this would have been difficult to store and the machines are kept at a storage point with no electricity. I’m not sure how I happened upon this gadget and was hesitant buying it as, with a battery and charger it wasn’t cheap. But what a godsend, so well made, I can set the pressure I want and it pumps to that then switches off, there is a handy light and it is so portable I can carryit under the seat in my van and easily and quickly pump up tyres anytime, anywhere. Love it.

I've used the pump to top up and check tires on two cars now. One of the tires is always deflated by 10psi and the pump quickly tops it up. The pressure gauge is accurate and I have checked it against two other gauges to make sure. You need to pump until the pressure shown is 2.5psi higher than you want. When you stop pumping the gauge stabilises and drops to the correct value after 5 seconds or so. The pump comes with various adaptors, three of them are stored on the pump body, but the "english" adaptor is very annoyingly attached to the end of the pipe by a short chain and gets in the way. I think its for doing bicycle tires so for the vast majority its a waste of time. I have detached it. The pump has one other irritating "feature", it doesn't have a trigger lock so you have to hold the trigger continuously, which I suppose if okay if you have a good back. I dont. All other electric pumps as found in car tool kits that I have used, have a button, which you press to turn on the pump and press again to turn the pump off. I dont see why this has to be different. So all in all I recommend this pump if you have other Makita LXT tools that share the battery and charger. Read full review

This item is awesome. It is so quick and powerful. Very easy to use, it comes with valves for car, bikes ( for both types of inner tube- presta and schreider) , a needle type for sports balls. It has a forward facing led to illuminate the area you need to inflate when natural light is low. There is an illuminated digital display where you can set your required psi, once it reaches the target pressure it automatically stops. So far I've used this on a car, van, motorbike, football, various bicycles and even an inflatable unicorn ( this does take a bit of time due to volume). The inflator has a 5 minute on 5 minutes off cycle.,considering it takes a few seconds to get to 110psi on a road bike, the 5 minute on off cycle shouldn't be any issue. The air hose looks very robust unlike other brands that might creak or come apart at the joints, this has heavy duty protection where it leaves the body of the pump. It's worth paying the extra for Just throw an 18v lxt battery on and away you go Read full review

I've only used these twice so far, but I can see it being very useful for car tyres. Much easier to use than the ones that plug into the car power socket. No cables to unwind and rewind, just attach it to the valve and start it. The pressure shows on the gauge, so you know when you've reached the right pressure, and there's a light so you can see what you're doing. If you have other Makita power tools that use the same batteries then it would be a very handy addition to your collection. As with other Makita tools, it feels well made. So far, very pleased with it

I was a worried about ordering this after reading some reviews ,Well i was pleasantly surprised to find it worked very well yes you do have to keep your finger on the trigger switch but it is very light and it is not for long as it soon reaches the required pressure. Also some lxt batteries not fitting i have a range of lxt batteries everyone of them fitted no problem. I liked the light on the front helps to find the valve in dim situation .also like the fact that the adapters are fixed on the machine easy to get to and use and put back .I have pumped up quad tyres to bike tyres it worked effortless and the pressure cut off switch is a real help i would recommend this machine but you need to shop around as the price varies widely i have seen it as high as £90 which is outrages the price i paid just over £50 which was plenty but having a lot of pneumatic tyres to look after will make the job very easy and will be worth the money if the Makita brands is long lived Read full review

garage tyre inflator stations are not reliable .If you don’t need the exercise provided by manual pumps a powered pump is great . The makita pump is first class and worth having IF you already have a mikita 18 volt batteries and charger it’s not economic as a stand alone item. also watch out that you buy the pump which your batteries fit. I did but my neighbour did not.

fast pump, great if you have other 18V Makita power tools which can share the same battery, digital display ,set desired PSI and automatically stop. Would have been nice if it came with a case but still definitely would recommend.

light weight and so portable being cordless , besides the normal tyres ect ,i use for pressure testing pipes at work where its faultless , only down side is you have to hold the trigger all the time to keep pump running , Ive used a cable tie around the handle which slides over the trigger to hold it on as pump stops at pressure set on the screen

Great item . Pumping up pressure goes up just over 8 bar . Converted speed fit cap with a tyre valve fitted to it . Whack it on the of a pipe run and pump up system (air test ) done 4 bedroom house full test heating & hot & cold water supplies. Saves getting big compressor out and also if no power on site .

Pumps up van tyres pretty quickly and is easy to use, a bit noisy, but I think they all are. Probably a bit expensive but a handy tool if you have vehicles these days as garages tend to charge for air. Obviously you need Makita style batteries so not so clever if you use DeWalt or any other brand.
