A Dyson vacuum cleaner that doesn't live up to the hype
Why is this vacuum cleaner a 2 star product? Old fashioned upright vacuum cleaners were designed to be laid virtually flat to allow easy cleaning under kitchen tables and even coffee tables. The Dyson does not. This is a design flaw which makes for a problem. The extension hose is another problem. Once extended the hose is desperately keen to contract - thus tipping over the vacuum and making tool use very difficult. Dyson can be rather too smug about their products. This vacuum is an object lesson in why their smugness can lead to the creation products that can fail to live up to the hype.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

Small but powerful
Cheapest of corded upright Dyson range Efficient powerful cleaning for carpets and hard surfaces. Only downside is that it needs emptying frequently and that suction tube is fairly small bore so doesn’t pick up larger items. But you get what you pay for. , it is “ small” ball vacuum. Instructions state filter needs washing monthly to maintain efficiency. This will be a pain as it also states 24 hours to dry.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Absolutely genius.
This is exactly what I wanted in a vacuum cleaner. Everything about it is just superb. After a very big post-decorating clean-up, it really did cut the mustard and then was so easy to empty and clean afterwards. The engineering is simply genius; the cable is extensive - can plug it in upstairs and take the cleaner downstairs to use the tools! Cannot say enough about it, I just love it. Fantastic Replacement for a Dyson DC01
I ordered a refurbished Dyson Small Ball Allergy from the Dyson eBay store and I am pleased to report it arrived safely the next day; this being a replacement for one of the first Dyson DC01 cleaners which I have had since 1995. The Dyson DC01 has given excellent service for 26 years and will remain my backup cleaner, but compared to the Dyson Small Ball it’s performance is much lower; on suction alone, the new Dyson filled its bin twice on a carpet previously ‘cleaned’ by the old DC01! My best Dyson yet.
I have had other brands in the past and none are a match for dyson. I have just had to replace my old one and chose this small ball allergy. I love it's quiet motor and ease to use. I also love the long flex that enables me to practically go right through the house from one central plus socket. if there is something I don't like I'd say it's the tools.
