  • This Is Not A Book. It's a PIN, silly.

This item is not a book. Disregard all other reviews. This is a brooch type promotional item with a hinged pin. Don't be confused and think that you are purchasing a book by reading the reviews. Repeat: This. Item. Is. Not. A. Book. It's a very nice pin that you can wear to an impress your friends who are Rick James fans with, but if you want to read about Rick James, then this item is NOT for you.

  • Rick James: Confessions of Rick James

Very interesting book. Filled with bw photographs. Rick James talks about the highs and lows of his drug addiction, how he crafted songs and compiled albums, his trips around the world, his dealings with Motown, and the women he made love to and developed friendships with on his life's journey. I always admired Rick for developing the funk sound during a time when music needed to evolve. His music made life exciting and fun. This was a book I couldn't put down and read in one day and then re-read parts now and then. What a talented & smart guy who fought his way through by leveraging what he had.
