Buy The Movie You Won’t Regret It👍
The movie is awesome, the movie keeps you engaged throughout the entire movie. Very suspenseful movie, as much so that you don’t know what is going to happen. I love the part where the robot is chasing the West World guest underground and all the robot has is thermal imaging and sound to go by, very suspenseful movie. First saw it was a child and scared the daylights out of me. If you want a very suspenseful movie and you love electronic devices like robots this is the movie for you. In spite of all the errors with non sensible attempts at believable sci - fiction,its fun to see after all of these years. Humorously enough, a Winchester that shoots on auto..spraying multiple rounds, non stop. When that fails,a battery powered side arm comes into play. CGI begins here
I doubt that Yul Brynner ever envisioned his work in Westworld to become ground-breaking, but years later, and if he were alive today, I suspect he would be astounded at the expansive influence Westworld's CGI would pose in film making. Strangely enough, casting Yul as the first tech-enabled robot gone amok, was only a sidebar in an otherwise distinguished career. Yet he brought something unique to a mechanical entity that few others of his time could have accomplished. I can't help but wonder how thoroughly Schwarzenegger may have studied Brynner's performance before his own characterization appeared 10 years later in a similar role. Not enough... IMO. It does illuminate just how much a solid acting presence can lend credence to a genre usually passed off as merely an expression of special effects. As viewers, we are equally fortunate that Crichton's devotion to asuring his own vision was not hampered too severely by the typically shredding and pigeon-holing of the studio system... perhaps the last of its kind. Sit back and enjoy the first venture into state-of-the-art fantasy, armed with expressive performances from a worthy cast relating a view into the not-too-distant future.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Westworld, the original film (not the poor knockoff series) tells the tale the world's best amusement park. Nothing can go wrong.
The original Can't Stop The Robot film! If you loved Terminator, be sure to watch this Michael Crichton film. Action aplenty! Here is where the idea came from to have a robot/cyborg that has a mind of its own. The world's best amusement park features a Western portion, a Roman portion and a Medieval portion for guests to enjoy. Everything is perfect, and nothing can go wrong. Or can it? No Special Effects Required
I remember seeing West World when it was released, a LONG time ago. The movie makers relied on acting, directing, & editing, rather than special effects to give life to a movie. Neither sci-fi or Yul Brenner were particularly appealing to me back then. This movie changed my views of both. the premise is that a new vacation resort has been created to allow you to go back to one of the time periods you would love to have lived in, & interact with specially created robots that are almost exactly human...like an interactive Disney World for adults. The main character is going to the western themed section of the resort, & just like my luck, things go drastically wrong. Brenner scared the hell out of me. The last half of the movie had me riveted to the screen. At the time it was a very original concept. The acting was good, a few funny scenes in the beginning, & then Brenner, with hardly a word of script, stepped up & stole the show. Loved it then & love it now!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
