As with all books of this nature, it is more helpful in retrospect, rarely are such useful insights read during the "parenting" years. My wife and I were attracted to its content because we have two grand-daughters, the youngest one is as bright as a button and brings us great joy, the eldest is having an awkward adolescence which makes us anxious because we don't understand how to best respond to her behaviour.
