Classic, gentle, character-led comic drama
The first two series are easy to find cheap, the third one less so, but all three deserve a watch. Rarely laugh out loud funny but always whimsical and witty. I'd argue the last (third) series is better than the second as there's more character development and more realistic plot development. Like the first two series the two leads are watchable everyman types but - especially in Toby Jones' case - with odd quirks. Loose ends are tied up nicely, although the two detectorists never do find their great golden treasure hoard, despite it being there for the taking all along. Maybe a special or preferably a fourth series could re-visit the Danebury Club and witness their triumph?Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
