I purchased this being a horror geek I absolutely loved it .What amazed me was that the children were extreamly good in there roles which is not always the case .The story was well paced and had me jumping at times which isn't easy at 63 lol. I was a little taken aback by the letterbox style but to be honest I soon forgot about it . The only down side was some scenes were a little dark and hard to see at times but overall a great night's entertainment . I have read some of the posts and have sent for the original version as some are staying that is a watch so I will see what I think .DVD great price for brand new .I will keep this in my collection and will definitely watch again
Very dark and shadowy in places. I watched it after watching the original film and found this one to be nothing special after version 1. Probably OK to anybody who's never seen the original though. I bought both versions and watched them for the first time. Version 1 gets the prize in my opinion.
Better than the 90's original. More true to the Stephen King book. A book I have read 7 times. The original screen adaptation left a lot of the book out. This version, being in two parts, allows more of the original story to be told. I never believed anyone could better Tim Curry's portrayal of Pennywise the Clown but I was wrong. The actor in the reboot isn't better than Tim Curry but he is equally as good. I still can't close my eyes at night without seeing the image of Pennywise . SCARED CUSTOMER. Stephen King fans will not be disappointed
If you’re a Stephen King fan you will love this. Although nothing will ever beat the original with Tim Curry as Pennywise this film is absolutely fantastic. The clown is definitely more scary & a few jumpy bits aswell. The kids are all amazing, Richie is a hoot & Bev is sexy & terrific. This is only Part 1 & ends again when the Kids come out the sewers. Roll on Part 2 can’t wait!
"It" is generally considered a good film, particularly for horror fans, with many praising its terrifying portrayal of Pennywise the clown, strong performances from the young cast, and a compelling story about childhood friendship facing a dark threat; however, some might find it too reliant on jump scares and may not fully appreciate the emotional depth of the narrative depending on their expectations
Unlike the original film, this one concentrates more on horror situations rather than on the children's characters and relationships with each other. A good film but probably enjoyed more by those who have not seen the original. In my view the original was a better film.
