I saw this line up of The Mahavishnu Orchestra in Boulder, Colorado in 1971, and it is one the most memorable concerts in my life. McLaughlin, at the time, was untouchable for devastating guitar riffs, Billy Cobham was a powerhouse drummer, and Jerry Goodman burned on his blue electric violin. They made music that was never heard before. A blend of jazz, India and rock, fused by perhaps, the greatest group that ever was. There has not been music like this since. .
