Product Information
The ST-EF500 is both a brake lever and speed shift lever. With a 3x7 speed selection, this 21-speed accessory comes with two stainless steel cables each for the right and left shifter or braking combo set, where they attach to the levers on the braking pad. The left shifter has a triple crankset while the right one has a 7-speed rear cog; combining the two gives a 21-speed selection.Product Identifiers

Shimano is great! I use to race mountain bikes.
Have an old Cannondale mountain bike that I raced in the early 90's that needed new Shimano shifters. The old XT's were worn and I needed to replace them. I bought this set and they work great, they shift fast without missed shifts and jumping off the sprockets. Price was very affordable and the performance is better than the old Shimano XT. Highly recomend them for restoration. the Cannondale was custom built in 1991 for $4500.00 or more and it would have been a waste to not replace the shifters and chain. The Bike is way to nice for that. It is Vintage now, but still as good as most of the new Cannondales in the 3 - 4 thousand dollar bracket. I hope this review helps you decide, it is well worth the money and is made high qaulity.
