Smokie were a fixture in the UK charts during the late Seventies and this CD contains all of their top 30 hits,as well as from some very listenable Album cuts. "Living Next door to Alice" was perhaps their most well known track, and it was also reprised in the early Nineies as "Who the F**K is Alice" with comedian(?) Roy Chubby Brown, and was a Top Five hit. Others hits include "Lay back in the arms of someone","Baby it's you","If you think you know how to love me","I'll meet you at midnight",as well as their take on "Needles and Pins". Great hooks, and harmonies make this the definitive Smokie compilation but plse note the lead singer is Mike Craft who took over from Chris Norman(Left the band in the early eighties),and Alan Barton(Sadly killed in a accident in a van carrying the band from a gig in Germany). To these ears all three singers sound identical so this doesn't make these versions any better,or worse, than the originals. So highly recommended, and you will be surprised just how many hits Smokie did have!.Read full review

Brilliant to have Smokie on CD. I have it on an old cassette and used to play Living Next Door to Alice in the 70s. Great sound on it all and well worth the money.
