Beautifully and economically written, performed and shot. Some might find it dour - It's certainly not an upbeat film, but why would it be, given the subject? I saw it when released (I even witnessed the shooting of two scenes - one of which didn't make it into the final edit), and have just seen it again for the first time since. It's even better than I remember. And Miranda Richardson is sensational.

This film was entertaining with a tragic ending as we all know she was hung for murder , her life seemed to spiral out of control when she met him and she paid the ultimate price. Well acted throughout.
