Its a very dark storyline. The daleks are as good as dark and sinister as ever. The story is exciting and interesting. the characters are very well written. The extras on the DVD are a plenty. If u like Doctor Who and the Daleks and Davros this DVD is for u. I Recommended it!!!!!!!!!!!
The much anticipated return of Davros, evil creator of the Daleks, after being apparently exterminated several years (earth time!) before. Accompanied by the much improved Romana (the wonderful Lalla Ward), the Doctor lands on Skaro to find the Daleks mysteriously tunneling away into the bowls of the planet (well, quite a few feet at any rate). The Daleks not being renowned for their digging skills (who can forget the mess they made in Hartnells Dalek invasion of Earth?), the Doctor is of course curious to what they are up to. An interesting plot with the Daleks at odds with a race of beings, who have great dress sense, looking like the cast of 'I lost my heart to a starship trooper'. Why are the Daleks so intent on defeating this race and why can they not get the upper hand? Why are they so intent on digging into the planet? An interesting plot, with purpose and end point. Keeps you guessing for quite a while (unless you have seen it before of course). All round fun, with some great nostalgic scenes. Tom Baker and Lalla Ward have some great scenes and exchanges - one of my favourite combinations of Doctor and Companion and they even got rid of the dreaded k9 for this story. Recommended.Read full review
Good addition to anyone who loves Dalek episodes. This one includes daleks and davros, but it is one of the worst davros characters in the history of dr who. However, Tom Baker is a great dr who and there is plenty of dalek action.
