Trower at his best
The early Trower albums are all good but this is arguably the best of the bunch. 5 outstanding tracks and 3 good ones! There are also 8 extra tracks from the BBC John Peel sessions in 1975, which unlike a lot of 'bonus tracks' are worth having. James Dewer's voice is perfect for this great trio. Up there with Hendrix is this guy! The expertise and sensitivity of his playing throughout the album, particularly the title track, is outstanding. I owned 'For Earth Below' on vinyl at one time and always liked it - 'Alethea' was returned to repeatedly! The only thing that i didn't like about this album is it took me nearly fifty years to hear it . Not just for the cognoscenti, definitely with wider appeal . If you like blues flavoured hard rock but prefer tunes and feeling to extended jerk-offs then check this out .
