About this product

Product Information

Released along with the companion game Zerker X Saurian, Mega Man Star Force 2: Zerker X Ninja continues the series' theme of melding card battles with traditional RPG gameplay. Gamers once again take control of Geo Stelar and his friend Omega-Xis as they navigate both the physical world and the Wave World -- an alternate reality network powered by electromagnetic waves -- battling unidentified animated beings and a new rival named Rogue. From the chaos springs a mysterious organization aiming to revive an ancient civilization, and only Geo and Omega can foil their plans. Gamers can fight back by harnessing the spirit of the ancient "Tribe" species to transform into an Elec Zerker that fights with a lightning-powered sword, or morphing into the cat-quick, Shinobi Star-wielding Wood Ninja. The game world at large is seen from an isometric viewpoint, but drawing battle cards triggers confrontations displayed in 3D on three-by-five battle grids. Gamers can use the wireless LAN or Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection to communicate with friends, share battle secrets, swap cards, and test their skill in friendly head-to-head fights.

  • 2 times the fun! Megaman Star Force 2: Ninja X Zerker

The second installment to the Megaman Star Force series. Split between 3 versions packaged into 2 retail boxes, it is like buy one get one version free. Much like the previous Megaman Star Force games, it is a classic RPG that is being tweaked to perfection. Throughout the game, one is controlling main character Geo Stelar in a 2D perspective overworld. Being faced with many challenges and problems that arise, he transforms with Omega-Xis to become Megaman. The battle system takes place on a unique 3D perspective on a 3X5 grid using battle cards collected throughout the game. While some people feel it to be too simplified and restrictive compared to the predecessor Battle Network series, it still brings a great experience and utilizes different kinds of strategies. As for the story, this one has a world culture theme of many countries instead of being mainly based on space. The character developments were present and done in such a way that makes them quite rememberable (some ideas taken from the anime). My previous statement about being 2 games in 1, the game has 2 save files, one for Zerker and one for Ninja (kind of like how Megaman Battle Network 5 Double Team save files were done). There is not much difference besides the battle cards that can be obtained within each version and the OOPart obtained in the story that allows Megaman to transform into one of the 3 tribes. I would like to add that besides the cover art and battle cards obtainable for considering which version to play/buy, one can input codes freely found on various gaming sites everytime before selecting a save file to transform into any of the 3 tribes or even Tribe King. As of currently writing this review, Nintendo has shut down the Wi-Fi service for all DS games, thus the online battles and brother bands features have become unavailable to be tapped. Local multiplayer still works, if you have extra DS systems around. Overall, I would recommend at the very least giving this title a try.

  • A fun little time killer.

A great way to use up time. A neat evolution to the gameplay introduced from the megaman network game series.

  • Unexpected Maintenance

The game itself is what I expected, but the cartridge didn't initially work upon arrival. Contacts had to be thoroughly cleaned before the game would work, and the game will still not work on occasion.

  • Horrible

Keep getting corrupt files and have to start all over. If I can refund this game I would do it immediately.
