  • Excellent bio of a great band

Excellent bio of a great band, not just for hardcore fans. Puts them in their historical context, looks at each of their unique (and slightly twisted) personalities, in particular how Moon and Entwistle and Townsend bounced off each other and made their 3-piece sound so much bigger. Nobody could quite work out what Moon and Entwistle were doing but each did something unique and innovative with their instruments. After Entwistle ("The Ox") died, Daltrey and Townsend explain how difficult it was to create the same sound; despite enlisting strings and brass and backing vocals, it was never the same.
