Punk rockers Green Day have come a long way since their formation as Sweet Children in the late 80's, a line-up and name change later they burst onto the Cali punk scene in 1994 with DOOKIE, which went on to sell over 10 million copies in the US alone. However, the band would not repeat this level of success until 2004's politically charged AMERICAN IDIOT-- infused with their familiar suburban angst and humour, but ultimately a more sophisticated album.
