The Sweeney - the flying squad
The 70s produced some classic police drama, ranging from Starsky and Hutch to this series featuring the flying squad, set in London which ran from 1974 until 1978. John Thaw is absolutely outstanding in his role as tough copper DI Regan (this was around 10 years before his role as Inspector Morse) and he works very well alongside Dennis Waterman who plays his loyal sidekick George Carter. These episodes are still very entertaining to watch, and the dialogue is excellent. The later episodes aren’t quite as strong as the earlier episodes, including the one featuring Morecambe and Wise, and the final episode sees Regan (Thaw) quitting his job. This boxed set features every episode of the drama and is well worth owning, they don’t make em like this anymore. Highly recommended.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Takes me back to a by gone era, great motors and hard hitting. Jack & George, proper London Old Bill & they don't come any harder than the Flying Squad ( Sweeney - Todd).
