Wow, This game has been around for quite some time, but so have I. The graphics, strategy and endless fun make this an excellent choice. As a grandfather the language is rough so I turn down the volume. Lot's of blood

I'm struggling. Game is harder to maneuver than my other first person shooter games. Plug, if you get shot, you die! No health meters or multiple lives. I guess they're trying to imitate real life. not as fun.

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is a very good game. I'm used to Call of Duty 4 : Modern Warfare and Call of Duty : World At War. Compared to those, the gameplay is slow. If you like fast paced action, you may wanna leave this one on the shelf. The good news is, it's slower for a reason. In the CoD titles you may just be able to run into a room a spray bullets and a waiting enemy. Not it R6V2. In this game you get up against the wall and peek around at your foe. You have the option to toss a grenade, smoke, C4, or other devices at them. You can also shoot at them in differnt ways. You can put just your weapon out the door and blind fire which is not accurate but doesn't expose you to damage or you can pop your head around the corner and use your scope to make a clean shot risking damage or death. Of course you still can run in and spray, but it doesn't work too well in this title. Online multiplayer is still very fun with a group of friends. I found this to be a great title, and my only complaint is the speed of gameplay. I don't think the slower pace is avoidable with the realism of this game however.Read full review
Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is a very remarkable game, it clashes with first person and 3rd person perspectives. A very well calculated cover system helps when it tough situations. RSV2 has the coolest outfitting settings, you can customize your character how ever you want, from the under padding he wears to the face paint he uses. Add a enormous array of attachments to an even bigger array of weapons ranging from snipers, shotguns, assault rifles, and SMGs, and you get one heck of a game! Again from my other review of Unreal tournament 3 there's just one problem that always annoys me. The sensitivity. I've raised and lowered the sensitivity of the X and Y axes, but to no prevail. It always seems to slow or to fast. I've gotten it to a point were I can still enjoy the game, but it's still not exactly were I want it. Rating system: GAMEPLAY: 9/10 GRAPHICS: 8.5/10 SOUND: 9/10 STORY: 7.5/10 TOTAL: 8.5/10 By my recommendations I'd say get it, but don't pay full retail price! -XxmastermushxXRead full review
If you're a fan of the Rainbow Six genre then you will enjoy the newest installment to the series. The game takes place in the desert city of Las Vegas and has all the excitement of the previous Vegas game. Vegas 2 is probably an 8.5/10 if you ask me for the following reasons. PROS: the customization is limited in terms of the actual character is concerned (facial features etc.) but the gun customization and realistic effect is good enough to match up to Call of Duty 4. Another cool feature that is unique for this game is that you can choose different armor combinations for your character and camoflauge (dozens of colors to choose from). One of the most useful features is that you can hug the wall when youre taking cover and how you can direct your two support men where to go (not a new feature, but always a good one.) The mini game mode Terrorist Hunt is a nice addition to the game. CONS: Online play is limited and does not work very well. The maps are difficult to play on with other human players and people have actually figured out a way to glitch in certain game modes in order to rank up faster... But if you just want to rank up fast I suppose that could be a Pro for you. Overall this game is a must have for fans of Rainbow Six, or even newcomers who like shooter games. It offers a unique way to play a shooter game and wont dissappoint.Read full review

As with the first, the controls are a bit odd, at least compared to a lot of other games. Most notably the seeming counter-intuitive press versus hold actions of Y, X, RB, and the LT cover actions. And realistic seems more difficult, especially in terrorist hunt, given the odd/inconsistent behaviors and/or sudden spawning of the AI at times. But compared to the first, a lot of nice things so far. Not only can you put your head on a character for multiplayer (via the xbox live camera) but that is also what's used in the regular game. Also in the regular game is experience. That is very nice. The achievements are a mixed bag. Some are basically gimmes that require no effort (5 silenced headshots) others are silly (1000 kills in multiplayer with at least 6 people playing) and/or would probably require boosting (5 consecutive kills without dying and without respawns). I'm imagining there's still people playing it, but what about in a year or two? A lot of games suffer from this problem. Especially music games. But that doesn't excuse it! *wink* All in all, if you liked the first game, you'll like this one, and if you hated the first one, you'll hate this too. Although it does look nicer, I think, it's got the same feel to it; the slightly wooden other characters, the at times incredibly stupid and annoying teammates, enemies that are made "more realistic" by making them behave randomly and bizarrely. But not exactly "just more of the same".Read full review
Despite the fact that R6V2 isn't a huge step forward from its predecessor, it's still a great game. The campaign is more varied and makes better use of multiple entries, which bodes well in co-op and lends itself to the tactical element of the gameplay. The co-op campaign is not gutted of squad tactics and storyline this time around, so no more awkward helicopter rides as you stare at your partner in complete silence. The only other significant additions are the ACES system (challenges unlocked during gameplay) and the ability to earn experience points across all gametypes as opposed to solely adversarial multiplayer. If you can find it for relatively cheap, I recommend R6V2. It surpasses its predecessor in every way, just not to an incredibly significant degree.
The two new stars of the show need to be introduced: Vegas and the cover system. Vegas is the setting for most of your multiplayer and single-player time, and it looks perfect. Not just because you can look down from pre-mission helicopter flybys and easily pick out almost any building on the strip -- hell, you can all but pick out your favorite buffet -- but also because it feels very real. Fighting down a major street has tourists flinging themselves out of the way of bullets. When you hit a slot machine, coins come jingling out. But when you have a firefight on the floor of a casino, the mission will probably also include trips to an office, a vault, or even employee restrooms. It adds immensely to the sensation of "being there" to actually have to fight through the back-end parts of the Strip. Vegas, divided into individual cells of fictional casinos, feels as real and alive as anything else in the game.Read full review
Seeing it on my friend's TV screen for the first time made me intantly fall in love with this game. Upon buying it, it was clear that this game was a work of genius. The AI of the enemy is both sneaky and confrontational at the same time, providing a challenge but yet a lot of fun. A perfect melody of weapon selection, maneuverability, and tactical necessity, working with your teamates throughout the story line and especially on XBox Live is a must. As with many first person shooters, the AI of your teammates isn't the best, but certainly isnt the worst. Through the many levels of the campaign I found my squad to be very helpful and responsive, although sometimes when I needed them most they werent there (which is probably my fault anyways). The campaign is decently long but beating this game is taken to a whole new level as to fully master the awards you must beat the game on all the different difficulties, and shoot your way through the terrorist hunt mode doing the same. Overall I highly recommend this game to anyone who feels up to the challenge of occasionally getting their ass kicked, restarting the mission, and dedicating themselves to accomplishing a higher rank.Read full review
