This game is an amazing game for anyone who loves rhythm games and music! This game allows me to play as a guitarist, bassist, singer, or drummer! I can play various roles and the various roles and accessories like the drum skin are fun to use and not too hard on the hands! If you liked Guitar Hero then you'll love Band Hero for the DS where you can take the fun with you everywhere for a great price! You can make and customize your own band to various styles and looks which is a nice touch! The game has a tutorial if you need help and practice. The songs are a pretty good mix of pop, rock, and others but still fun to play! Overall for the money, stuff, game modes, songs, and play I recommend this and give it 5 stars for Band Hero DS!

this game doesn't recognize a "simple tap" instead u have to sloppily flick the stylus to hit a note.

I love this game, but it is harder to manage with the smaller DS. The attached fingering unit is good, but can hurt your wrist after awhile, but the bigger issue is using the touch screen to strum. I would often miss notes, despite the fact that I was actually hitting them. I would also accidentally set of the star power by strumming too close to the meter. The game says that the entire DS touch screen can be tapped to strum, but that has not been my experience. Otherwise, still just as much fun to play on the DS as it is on the real system- just need to make sure you have headphones so you can actually enjoy what you're playing!
Guitar Hero: On Tour is good but not great. If this was not a smaller version of a console counterpart, I would review it higher. If you only have a DS you should buy this game. If you have any home console you should get that version instead. There is nothing inherently wrong with On Tour but it is missing that feeling of rockin' out. The controls are responsive and it sounds pretty good for the DS. The song selection is not as robust as the console counterparts. Overall I recommend this title to someone in need of a DS game or can't get enough of strumming to colored circles.
It's not guitar hero on any normal console. However, this portable Guitar Hero is still a great game! It has an awesome variety of songs, and isn't too hard to understand. The one drawback would be when you first get used to it. Wrist cramps, as well as sore fingers come along with this type of game. However, after about a week, I got used to it and didn't have to worry about my hand hurting. This game has some very great classics, and it's a great game for the DS, especially if you travel a lot!
This game is great! I got it for son for his 7th birthday! he is a guitar hero FREAK! Now he has a portable version, and he's so excited! My only complaint is that it's a bit uncomfortable for him to play it. It does say right in the directions that extended use can cause wrist problems (carpal tunnel syndrome is one) and I believe it! If you purchase this, please make sure that you or your child is taking breaks and not playing for extended periods of time! Overall, this is a GREAT product and worth the money! I also recommend getting the guitar hero case. It has space for the DS, the guitar hero adapter, and 4 games. It also comes with "skins" to decorate the DS (my son now has flames on his DS)!
I’ve always loved the Guitar Hero, Band Hero, and Rock Band games. I especially loved it when they found a way to bring it to a handheld system. The whole idea was/is absolutely genius! The songs take me back to my emo - rocker days, days of my youth…and I get lost in playing the melodies. It’s great to be able to replay all the games I enjoyed so much in my early to mid 20‘s. I just wish they had continued past Modern Hits.

It's an amazing game in mobile form! It's also extremely unique since it uses the normally unused Game Boy Advance game slot to add a handle with buttons (guitar grip) to your Nintendo DS. And if you're afraid that your older version of the DS can't use the guitar grip, don't worry because it comes with an adapter for you guys! It also comes with an amazing guitar pick stylus! Theres also an amazing Duel mode with attacks that are all unique to the DS and the ways to fix them are also very unique i.e. blowing out fire on your guitar, the two screens switching, or signing autographs before you can play again! It also has the normal things features and play modes from the regular game! On the downside the game has just over 25 songs total, and even if you keep your wrist straight, like it shows on the package, your wrist will hurt after long periods of play! All in all great game-play and a must have in your Nintendo DS collection! Especially from Ebay where you can save 10 bucks on a brand new system easily!Read full review
Bought this for my 8 year old son - and it is an impressive game - loaded with songs from multiple decades and easy to understand and challenging enough to keep your interest. I continually have to monitor his time, he will play until he has no feeling left in his hand. IMPORTANT NOTE, the game requires a controller and I made the mistake of ordering just the game and had to order the controller separate. Great for all ages and levels
I heard it's a good stepping stone to play a real guitar. I bought it for my wife because she likes video games. She has a DS Lite so hopefully it's as easy as playing it on a Wii or something. Reviews prior to mine are good so I say go for it. I played it, and it indeed is addicting. It's kind of hard to play though when compared to playing on a big screen. On a side note, I don't understand why peeps bid on the game at up to $50 when there are Buy It Now prices brand spanking new and shrink-wrapped at say $38.99??? Idiots, if you ask me! HAHAHA! If you would like to save a few extra bucks, wait until after the Christmas season. I got mine for $37.02, but I know I could've got mine for say $5.00 cheaper, but I said **ck it, I get kick ass deals on eBay already. You win some, you lose some. Get the game and see for yourself. Payce!Read full review
