Perfect for replacing the traction tyres on a whole range of diesels (Hornby, Peco). You need a steady hand, and best to remove the wheels from the engine before trying to fit. Once on though, you get excellent traction, and is well worth changing.

Traction tyres allow less weighty locomotives to pull larger trains but over many years they will perish. Replacing them can be easy depending on your loco construction. Peters spares PS42 are easy to fit and do a good job.

As I have found out the hard way, the rubber tires on OO gauge diesel locomotive wheels do wear out. In order to insure that these engines track properly it is necessary that they have these tyres on the grooved wheels on the power bogie. I searched for and bought these tyres because the tyres on one of my locomotives had worn off. I replaced the worn through tyres with these and it now runs fine. I marked them as "not durable" only because I expect the replacement tyres, which are necessarily thin, to wear out and eventually need to be replaced.

Bought these for a few of my 37’s and what a massive difference they make, easily 100% better. The old tyres had gone very brittle and with next to no traction, let alone pull anything. Very highly recommended. Thank you Peters spares.
