SkyWatcher 9x50 Right-Angled Finder-scope is a lightweight, compact and very easy to attach finder-scope. Provides an upright image with reversed left/right orientation. Supplied with finderscope bracket.
This 50mm aperture finder is significantly better and not too much heavier than the 25mm aperture SkyWatcher finders with the same scope bracket fitting. The 90 degree turn can be welcome for placing the observer's eye more comfortably when looking at targets high in the sky. The view ~ although an erect image ~ is unfortunately left-right reversed. I guess I will have to ask my Starry Night computer program to do an on-screen left-right field reversal in order to make it easier to correlate with the finderscope view. I would have preferred the 9x50 finderscope to give an erect image without left-right reversal. Perhaps a 45 degree erect image diagonal ( without left-right reversal ) for the finder could be made ? ~ but I have not seen mention of such a component being available ?
