I bought a Gold Tone ME microbass a few months ago. It had the usual machine heads fitted. They looked nice but when I changed fro polymer strings to tape wound steels they soon became slack meaning lots of backlash especially on the E string. I know Gotoh machine heads are used on good quality Japanese built basses so I took the plunge and bought a set. They are superb. No backlash and east to tune my bass accurately. I strongly recommend them if you want quality engineering.

Perfect upgrade for my Ibanez Mikro, stays in tune now! Straight replacement - no adjustment or drilling. Only warning: original posts taper where the string winds so you can’t use the old low E, as there’s not enough to wind round a parallel post.
