Great for an apprentice electrician
Being an apprentice electrician I have a tight budget on tools. I wanted a pair of automatic wire strippers to make life Easier when stripping cable. I had a tight budget and the price point of this product really suited my budget. I used them all day today and they have not had any issues yet. They feel very good quality for the price and I think they will last me a good while until I have the money available to buy something a bit more supreme. But for the meantime they do the job great and I highly recommend these to any apprentice electricians or even diyers on a budget. The only issue I have found with these is that you cannot strip 3 core flex with it as the stripping jaws are just too small. But as 90% of the time I strip flat twin and earth cable I wasn’t too bothered. They where not the same brand as the ones advertised likewise the jaws where not the same but I wasn’t too fussed about this as they are the same tool at the end of the day! Delivery was fast and over all I am happy with my purchase.

A waste of time, doesn't strip outer cable sheath of the most basic cable.
Very disappointed. I should have read the reviews before purchase. Firstly the item that arrived didn't match the picture in the description. It didn't have the steel jaws, just inserts. It wouldn't carry out the basic function, which was to strip the outer insulation layer of a 6mm cable. It simply wouldn't fit in the jaws, presumably because the inserts stick out too far. It will be returned.

Works well on smaller cabling
Limited scope when removing outer sleeve on twin and earth, even less so removing sleeving on round three core cables. Tried flattening round cable so it will fit without luck. Had some success removing 1.0mm twin and earth sleeving. Works much better with single cables after manually stripping the sleeving. Does not damage or mark the copper. Really easy to use and the length stop is very useful. Sometimes the jaws slip but pressing down on them with a free hand helps more than changing the adjuster. Given four stars because for the cost, these cutters make a really good job of preparing wire for fitting to electrical components, i.e.,all undamaged a d all the same length.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great product
It strips wires like a pro. Most of the cables I have will fit in this machine but a couple were too thick, they were my laptop charger and a 4 gang extension lead. It strips thin wires perfectly e.g. the wires inside a USB charge cable. Looks and feels well made. it was in its original, sealed, plastic packaging. Very pleased.

Only strips thin single core wire, can't strip outer insulation of 3 core household wire, it doesn't fit in.
A normal household three core wire doesn't fit in the jaws to strip the outer insulation, it's only any good for single wire stripping, not really impressed with it, could have been much better. Also the picture doesn't match the actual item ( the jaws are different, cheaper! ) pic 1 is what was listed, pic 2 is what turned up, the cutting jaws are different & won't strip the thick outer layer of 3 core wire as it doesn't fit in the tool.
