If your current pedal works at all, you don't need to change it.
Replaced this item on my 180k mile audi 3.2 in an attempt to alleviate 'jerky' throttle sensitivity when pulling away and on light throttle, and a lazy return to idle when stopping.
Didn't make any difference.
I also broke 3 of the 6 wires going into the connector just trying to disconnect it in the footwell, which gave me an extra fiddley job soldering wires into the back of the connector in the footwell.
On the bright side, I didn't have to pay a dealer £100+ to find this wasn't the problem!
Its a good job I love my car :-)!
