This Aico Carbon Monoxide Alarm EI208 provides 10 years protection against the hazards of carbon monoxide fumes in the home or business premises. It is powered by a lithium battery that is sealed into the unit and has a high performance electro chemical sensor to detect carbon monoxide in the atmosphere. Well made, good value overall
Well made and easy to install. Ten year life-of-product fixed battery (non-user installable/removable) = GOOD. So an install and forget alarm? Not quite. The instructions say that it is to be tested weekly, so there is that for consideration when installing. Also the pre-alarm red light which detects rising levels (which do not trigger the sound alarm), has a fairly complex table to memorise if you pay attention to it. So you will probably want to keep the booklet handy in case it does flash when it catches a whiff of the barbecue. Also the red light indicates a 'memory of recent high levels of CO' by a set of coded light flashes, so you are going to need a three-digit IQ to master all this. Keep the booklet nearby for handy reference. Not having a digital CO level display keeps the cost down but I do miss it. But good value overall.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
