Poor design and quality, like the previous Black and Decker tries at Home Cafe Makers,
Brewed two cups of coffee and it quit working. The mechanism to tighten the top to seal the pod is too weak, have to keep unplugging and resetting and eventually it may seal. Defective design even worst than the previous handle to seal the pod. Folger's Home Café pods I feel was much better than the environmentally unfriendly K Cups. Relying on Black and Decker to make a reliable Coffee Maker for the introduction of Home Cafe was a huge mistake. The later Krups 1010 dual chamber Home Café was a much superior machine but with New Orleans suffering from Hurricane Katrina and recovery, Folger's dropped its effort to develop Single Serve Coffee opening the door for the K Cups. Personally I believe the K cups are unhealthy plastic pods as well as economically inferior to the paper single serve pods. Its reflected in the taste of the coffee. My background is an employee of 42 years producing coffee for consumers. I know coffee as well as anyone. In 2005 Single Serve Magazine Awarded its top recommendations for the Krups 1010 as the best Single Serve Coffee Maker. Sad Katrina came along to change Folgers focus away from Home Café to recovery at its New Orleans Plant.
