  • Revelations about everyday life for Russians (so different than our own).

    The author grew up in Leningrad, then lived in the West for 13 years. Therefore, she has the authority of a real Russian, but now she understand how non-Russians feel curious bout certain topics. She covers the subjects of everyday life, the communal apartment, Postcommunism, and nostalgia. Having visited Russia 5 times, I would say she is right on target in her explanations (some quite eye-opening).
